Located in Rock Island, just mins from historic McMinnville, this thoughtfully designed home features outdoor living spaces, a cozy stone fireplace, and access to the nearby Rocky River, which boasts a community fishing dock and pavilion. The spacious garage includes a conditioned, pup-friendly suite w/dog door & fenced enclosure. This peaceful & family-friendly Cottage is where memories are meant to be made.

🏡 The Home: This private home is perched on a gentle hill, offering 🌄 stunning views of rolling hills and valleys, 🏔️ Turkey Scratch Mountain, and sometimes even the neighboring 🐄 cows grazing just beyond the fence line. 🛏️ Sleeping & Living Spaces: The main level features two bedrooms, each with its own 🚿 full bathroom. For added convenience, a 🧺 washer and dryer are available for guest use, located in a dedicated space within the secondary downstairs bathroom. Upstairs, you’ll find a spacious open loft with a separate 🛋️ living area, 🛏️ four full-size bunk beds, a 🌅 patio with scenic views, and a large 🛁 full bathroom with a tub. 🐾🎮Pet Area & Garage Game Room *** (please read all info below if booking with a pet): 🐕 Please note, the inside of the home is NOT pup friendly...ONLY the pup friendly garage, thank you for understanding! An XL doggie door provides access to a 20x15 fenced area, making it easy for pups to enjoy the outdoor space indepentely. The space is heated/cooled and has a couch and television for your pup(s). We do have a 2 pup max unless approved. The garage—connected to the home by a breezeway—is both dog-friendly and doubles as a 🎯 game room. This heated and cooled space includes 🏓 a ping pong table, 🎮 classic Nintendo, 🎯 dart board, and a great selection of 🎲 board games. Please note: this home has exterior security cameras

Other Details to Note

The heated and cooled 400 sq ft - 2 car garage is dog friendly. Inside of the home is not. There is an XL doggie door which leads to a 20x15 fenced in area. If traveling with your pet, please include your pup(s) at checkout when noting your guests. There will be an additional pet fee which covers our additional cleaning fee and wear of the property over time. (Thank you!!) This property is 10 minutes to Rock Island State Park (the headwaters of Center Hill Lake at the confluence of the Caney Fork, Collins, and Rocky Rivers), 15/20 minutes to charming downtown McMinnville, 20 minutes to Cumberland Caverns, 35 minutes to Burgess Falls, 45 minutes to Fall Creek Falls, and much more! Please note, the kayaks shown in the photos are not included with the rental, however, there are kayak rental options nearby that we would be happy to share with you! Only guests staying at The Cottage may use the community common area with river access. The river is low from about Nov-May b/c it's controlled by Center Hill Dam. The Corp of Engineers release the water towards the end of May. You are still able to swim and fish anytime. Swim at your own risk.

Pets are only allowed in the climate controlled garage. Pets are not allowed in the home. The 400 sq. ft. garage has an XL doggy door which leads to a 20x15 fenced in area. Smoking is permitted outside, but please clean up after yourself.

What a perfect retreat away from everything but close enough to anything you could possibly want. The property and house were pristine, fully stocked with everything we needed and in perfect condition. The beds were comfortable and I loved all of the natural light the house provided during the day but could easily pull the shades down at night. Elizabeth was great at communicating, providing local spots to check out and being understanding of me accidentally breaking something at the house. This house was so great, I *almost* want to leave a poor review just so other people don't also fall in love with it, but of course I wouldn't do that to these amazing hosts. 😁 We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can!

The property was exactly as described. Very clean and included all the right amenities. The hosts were very responsive and provided a list of area attractions. They did everything to make our visit stress-free and relaxing. We will definitely rent again when we are back in the area. Highly recommend!!

Our stay was fantastic! The home and property were beautiful and very comfortable. We wanted a peaceful and quiet location, and this one delivered. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for a family of 5. Plenty of great local recommendations from the host, and within 1-2 hours from many fun destinations. You won’t regret staying here! We’ll definitely be back.

The perfect hide away. I grew up in the Rock Island area, so it's always a joy to come back. This place hit it perfect. 2 acres with no neighbors, and completely peaceful. The colder weather made the outside area unusable, but couldn't have asked for a better stay. If you want to get out of the noise of life and escape for awhile, this is your spot.

My stay at rock island was absolutely amazing! Breathtaking to say the least! My family and I will definitely be visiting again, and we’re highly considering making it our tradition cottage for the holidays! It was very peaceful and down to earth.
